As a personal project I did a redesign on the blood glucose monitoring app "Zoe." Due to my background in nursing, I am interested in Health Technology and how we can use it to best manage long term conditions and improve peoples' quality of life.
I started by analyzing the UI of the "Zoe" app, identifying areas for improvement thinking from the user's perspective.
Overall, I think the space could be used much better. There is wasted space while also having important features e.g. time of day are very small. There is also little way for the user to tell where they are in the app so the experience could flow better with them being able to access different features from this page.
I then did a competitor analysis and design exploration, drawing on the strengths and styles to incorporate into my redesign. From this I made low fidelity wireframes. In particular, I kept accessibility in mind as some people with diabetes struggle with eyesight and I identified this as an area for improvement in the "Zoe" app.
Wireframe Features
Drawing on my understanding of the latest design principles and the learning points from my competitor analysis and design exploration, I created a high-fidelity screen.
Features from top to bottom
-user navigation and how to let the user know where they are in the app and why this is important.
-how to give user all the right information, using the space well
Thoughts for further iterations
