For this project I worked with a team of other UX designers, UX researchers and developers to make a travel app for the charity, Connected to Culture (C2C). The aim of the app is to connect travellers to diverse cultural experiences across Africa.
To start the project we participated brainstorming sessions to streamline project visions, explore pain points from the previous iteration of the app and to solidify user journey maps and user personas. For each persona we identified their interests, needs and expectations, motivations, pain points and goals to keep in mind when designing

For each persona we identified their interests, needs and expectations, motivations, pain points and goals to keep in mind when designing our app experience. I really enjoy working with this large team from different countries and backgrounds and seeing how many great ideas we can come up with in our collaboration sessions.
I am working on the "Explore Experiences" part of the app. This is where users can discover activities to do on their trip and find inspiration and excitement for the places they will visit. From user journey mapping I made wireframes of the different screens needed. We work by presenting our work to the rest of the team then getting feedback and thinking of ideas for improvement and sometimes collaborating to edit a page together in real time which I really enjoy. The final high fidelity designs are in progress!
The MVP was to have our 6 partner countries for users to explore activities in the local area.

South Africa- Country Homepage. I wanted to orientate the user to this country so opted to have an info card with vital information. I worked with the research team to establish these categories.
Johannesburg- City Homepage. C2C has businesses which they support and promote so I wanted to show these first with the "Featured activity" box. This could also be personalised based on user preferences in our questionnaire.

Outdoor Adventures- This page will show when the user selects one of the outdoor adventures categories. I opted to have a horizontal scroll and just show users 4 options at a time. I think it is also important to not load an entire page of options incase there are problems loading with lower speed internet. The user can load more options with the button.
I have learnt so much during this project!
Overall, this is a modular design which is responsive to fit different screen sizes. It is clean with the pop out teal colour to contrast. Users can see different categories of activities and filter depending on interests, budget etc. I would like to think of a way to make the user feel even more inspired and excited for their trip.
